Getting To The Isle of Bute and Finding The Bayview Hotel in Rothesay
The Isle of Bute is one of the easiest west coast Scottish islands to reach from mainland UK. There is a direct rail link from Glasgow Central Station to The Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal (pronounced "Weems"). From the Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry takes approximately 35 minutes to make the crossing to Rothesay. After disembarking turn left and you will find The Bayview Hotel only three quarters of a mile along the seafront. For directions please use the map above.

A More Scenic Route
If you are travelling by car or bike there is a more scenic and spectacular route you can take. Driving up past Loch Lomond and through the mountains of Argyll you will arrive at the village of Colintraive where a small ferry crosses the Kyles of Bute to Rhubodach on the north end of the island. From here drive south to Rothesay and you will find us on the seafront.
Check in time is 1pm. However, if you wish to arrive earlier you are welcome to leave your bags, fill out the formalities, and check into your room later in the day.
On the morning of departure guests are requested to vacate their rooms by 10.30am so they can be prepared for our new arrivals.
